Shri Prahalad Rai Agarwal, born in 1935 at Sulchani, Haryana, coming from a background of farmers & merchants envisioned to cater the industrial demand of iron and steel (especially in the agricultural industry) at an early age of 15, Unable to find the necessary motivation and infrastructure near Sulchani, he then travelled to Hyderabad. After finding support and opportunity at Hyderabad in 1957, he started selling iron, steel scrap, cycle stands & clocks in the name of Duxin Bharthi Mfg.Co, and then in 1972 started manufacturing MS Wires & Pop-Rivets with the name AGARWAL STEEL INDUSTRIES.

A pioneer and a visionary industrialist, Shri P.R Agarwal possessed a spirit of entrepreneurial adventure. Till date hundreds of people admire him because of his attitude of doing business and helping nature.

ASI is now ably managed by his son Mr. Sunil Kumar Agarwal.
